Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Museum!
Or rather, it feels a little strange to say that, since technically I’m the one who feels welcomed. It’s only been a week since I took up my post here at the Museum of Lost Cities, and I’m already excited and overwhelmed by the direction things are taking.
First, I’d like to bid a fond farewell to our outgoing Creative Director, Lise Barbier, who has done amazing work with the Museum, getting us up and running. We—none more than I—know that she was genuinely looking forward to seeing us through many exhibits, and it’s truly a shame to see her leave the Museum so early. However, I can’t say that I’m not excited to be at the head of the Museum for what’s to come. I can only sincerely hope that I will do Lise proud, and that the Museum will continue on the path she intended.
Speaking of staff movements, with the Museum’s inaugural exhibits just around the corner, I’d also like to introduce Lee Cope, our new Social Media assistant. Lee has set us up with an exciting new suite of sites and socials, and I’d like to take this moment to formally thank it for all the work it’s done leading up to our big launch, and welcome it to the team.
So, to the end of continuing Lise Barbier’s legacy, I’m so proud to announce that our very first exhibit will be launching in but a few weeks! This one has been a long time in the making, but I’m so excited to announce that Adelaide Simons is working closely with us to bring a virtual exhibit of her work on the newly-discovered island city of Eurymachia to the Melbourne audience!
With that, I’ll sign off. I leave you in Lee’s capable hands if you want to contact us through social media, and I look forward to touching base again next week.
Signing off,
Blair Hadley Evans
