Research Information

This Museum has been set up as part of a creative practice PhD research project by a candidate at RMIT University, Melbourne. Except for Melbourne City itself, none of the people or places presented by the Museum actually exist.

The candidate is researching modern attitudes to digital and physical recordings of history and experience. Research data will be collected primarily through engagement with the Museum’s social media presence. Options will also be provided to contribute to research data through participating in the events and exhibits.

Research data from social media will only be collected through public posts made with the #Museumoflostcities or #MoLC hashtag, or where the Museum is @-mentioned, and public discussions on the Discord. Unless specifically requested, the research will never use data collected from DMs or private messages, or any posts made without the correct hashtags or @-mentions.

If you would like any more information about the research or our data collection, please e-mail s3962748@rmit.student.edu.au, or reach out directly through the website contact form.

This research has human ethics approval through RMIT University, project number 26046. If you have any concerns about the research or the conduct of the researchers that cannot be resolved by contacting the researchers to discuss the issue, please contact researchintegrity@rmit.edu.au and cite the project number.
